Business Search vs Web Search
May 13, 2008
Both business search and web search have their own merits and have areas in which they are better than the other. This is quite an in depth area for discussion therefore this will only be a brief overview.
The term business search in this context is the use of online business directories. The main benefit of these directories is that they allow Internet users to find services or products that they need, quickly and easily whether that be a member of the general public finding an electrician or a business finding a supplier.
Using an Internet search engine will also allow users to find products or services but due to the global nature of the world wide web, they may well be out of reach, depending on what is needed. One thing to note however is that the major search engines will list a business search directory highly in their ranking if it is of good, relevant quality.
Online business search engines excel in local searches. For instance, if you need the services of a florist perhaps and they are for someone in the area close to where you live, there is more chance of finding one in a local business search.
